Today I want to concentrate on how leaders can be more proactive in our journey of development by setting goals for ourselves, each and every day to:
1. Create positive environments where people feel respected, trusted & empowered.
2. Provide opportunities for personal and professional development.
3. Build a vision, guiding people to achieve the vision state as effectively as possible.
It is said that great leaders remain aware that they have the power to create positivity and innovation in the work environment on a daily basis, not by a handful of spectacularly good achievements, but by the questions they decide to answer every day. For example...
1. What have I done today to motivate people and to recognise their valuable contribution?
2. What have I done today to make it more likely that I will learn something?
3. What have I done today to make it more likely that someone else will learn something?
4. What have I done today to make it more likely that a process or practice can be improved?
5. What have I done today to be good to myself, to value my time and to reflect on the important things?
What questions do you choose to answer every day?
Adrian.
